When I felt my 2 GSD’s were ready to retire from their work in a display team I started to search for a puppy to take on their ‘jobs’. I was certain I wanted a long haired black and tan male so started searching the internet. It had been 8 years since I’d had my male, Bailey, so I had a lot of researching to do!! After a few emails and phone calls I found Philippa’s wonderful website, Flyhart. The website was thorough and gave me all the photos/info on the breeder, the dogs and progeny. I particularly liked the look and sound of Asha, who was going to be mated to an outstanding male, Buguilar Akbar at her next season so I called Philippa to enquire. After speaking with Philippa I felt confident that I was ready to go to the next step and be put on the waiting list for one of her amazing puppies. She made me feel at ease and answered all the questions I asked her.
Philippa kept us informed when Asha came into season and had been mated and, again, once Asha was confirmed in pup. My husband and I were so excited. It suddenly seemed so much closer to getting our little bundle of joy!!
When the pups were born we received a beautiful email and some lovely pictures. We were at the top of the list for the pick of the boys!!! Wow!!! The next few weeks we received lots of emails and pictures, updating us on the pups progress every step of the way. When we went to pick our little boy Philippa was so helpful, friendly and patient, giving us lots of time to make our decision. We met Asha and Molly, Asha’s mum, and it was great to see both females had the most amazing, friendly temperaments with us and the puppies.
We picked our baby boy and a name for him and came home to plan our new babies arrival!! When the time came myself and my son went to collect Lego, Flyhart Django. Philippa, again, was patient while I filled in all the relevant paperwork and she ran through all the information regards Lego being wormed, microchipped and handed us a bag of his food to get us started. We even had a blanket with the scent of his mum to help him settle in first few days at home, which I thought was fantastic. He was super in the car on the way home and took it all in his stride arriving home to meet big brother and sister!!
Lego has settled into our ‘manic’ household superbly integrating with all of our pets, including 2 other GSD’s, rabbits and guinea pigs (oh not to mention our two children, 1 and 3 yers old) with ease and friendliness. He is such a confident, happy go lucky young man.
Lego is learning so many different disciplines and we are looking forward to a fantastic year ahead with his first season in a display team. He is taking it all his stride and is so quick to learn. We have started ringcraft too and our first show is in April. A new experience for the both of us. To add to all this we are starting to learn about Schutzhund and looking, in the future, to completing our BH test in this discipline.
I am so proud of Lego. He is such a talented, beautiful young man and we have high hopes for his future. Thank you Philippa for allowing us to have this wonderful boy. He is a credit to you, as are all your beautiful dogs. I cannot recommend Flyhart highly enough. Philippa has been so welcoming, honest and caring throughout and has given us wonderful advice on our new interest, showing, which we hope Lego excels at. Fabulous Flyhart!!!!

It took us a long time to get over losing our first German Shepherd, but eventually we started the long search for a breeder. Philippa was recommended to us and after looking her details up on the KC website and then looking at her website and the gorgeous Asha we gave her a call.
My first impression of Philippa on the phone was of someone enthusiastic about her dogs and committed to finding her puppies a good home with someone who had really thought about what they were taking on. We discussed what I was looking for in a German Shepherd which included a dog to do obedience work with. We were really excited to get a call to say there was a little boy for us. I loved the email updates and couldn't wait for the next lot of photos to arrive - neither could all of our friends and family! When the time came to visit Philippa made us feel really welcome. She had identified a dog from the litter that she thought would suit our requirements and we fell in love with him the moment we saw him, although the whole litter was perfectly gorgeous. It was great to meet mummy Asha and nanny Molly, both of whom had lovely temperaments. We also met Uzi who was so gentle around the pups and so affectionate. Philippa really does have her dogs as part of the family and you realise that when you visit. Finally, after what seemed a lifetime, we got to bring our little boy home. And true to Philippa's word, we brought home a confident 'bomb' proof pup. He was acclimatised to the usual household noises and not in the least bit bothered by the hoover, washing machine nor the cats or rabbits! Come firework night he wasn't bothered by them either. Philippa gave us a pack with useful information and tips, including ways to get the puppy used to other noises, such as giving him cardboard and plastic bottles. He's now a great little recycler!
We have started obedience training and he is such a fast learner and so intelligent, our trainer is really pleased with him and thinks he is going to be really good. When we are out and about we often get told how good looking he is and what a lovely colour he is.
I was devastated to lose my first German Shepherd, a wonderfully loyal best friend, who was big, handsome and cuddly, who loved to work and was described by our friends as a 'human dog'. I knew I'd never fill that gap but needed something special in my next dog. I can honestly say I have that with my little Flyhart Dillan. Otto is a good looking dog and such a great character and I'm so thankful to Philippa for such a wonderful boy.

We were seriously considering getting a dog for over six months before finding Flyhart through the Kennel Club website. Having contacted several names there by email, I was drawn to Flyhart immediately thanks to the quick, friendly response of Philippa. I looked through the comprehensive website and was pleased to find not only many pictures of their progeny (including their latest oh so cute litter) but also a complete set of contact details, testimonials and breeder specific information.
In mid-march 2011 I had a long and very detailed phone call with Philippa. She was warm and kind and answered every question I could think of as well as providing a wealth of additional information. We put our names down and waited. We received updates from then onwards by email every couple of days; keeping us informed of the mother’s condition and puppies’ welfare.
After a difficult time for Philippa when the litter suffered unexplained casualties, we were delighted to learn that we were still on the list of buyers and sent our deposit at once. The remaining puppies were gorgeous and all throughout the next weeks we fawned over the pictures that were sent to us. We arranged a visit as soon as we could and waited excitedly for the day to arrive.
Upon arriving, we were greeted by Philippa and her dogs with much warmth and excitement. We were invited to see the mother and the members of the progeny who lived together there. All were beautifully behaved and showed nothing but perfect temperament. The puppies were as expected simply adorable. They happily said hello, trotted about and chewed laces before falling asleep alongside us.
All of our questions were answered and we were made to feel wonderfully welcome. Philippa is a great hostess and clearly dedicated to the wellbeing of her dogs. We came away with a great sense of pride and comfort as well as a booklet thoroughly detailing everything about the breed and what we as new owners could expect.
The day we were to bring our bundle of fluff home couldn’t come soon enough. Philippa continued to keep us up to date with his progress and answered some forgotten questions of ours quickly and confidently. We returned to take him home in June and once again found great comfort in Philippa’s hospitality. We were told he was vaccinated, wormed, and microchipped and given tips on how to help him settle in. Driving back with a month’s worth of food, special blanket and soft sleeping puppy; we were safe in the knowledge that should we have any issue whatsoever, Philippa would be on hand straight away.
After a couple of days Philippa asked how he was settling in and I was delighted to tell her that he had taken to our home immediately. Over the next weeks as we trained him, took him for his vaccinations and his first walk, Philippa was always interested in his progress and on hand to offer advice.
Flyhart is the standard to which all breeders should aspire. Philippa is amazingly dedicated, truly enthusiastic, kind, caring and honest. Our bundle of joy is continuing to learn more and more each day. He shows perfect temperament and is calm and pleased with everyone we have introduced to him. New experiences are greeted with a happy curiosity. He is the quintessential GSD, loyal, strong, smart and slightly aloof. He will be loved as a part of our family forever.

We had been looking for a breeder since winter 2010 after losing our other GSD earlier that year. After many hours of looking for breeders on the internet we found Flyhart GSD, through the Kennal Club website. Looking through Philippa’s website and seeing Philippa’s past progeny we knew we had found the right breeder for us. When we initially contacted Philippa it was to discuss the litters she had planned for 2011 we said that we would like a male and were given the choice of two planned litters. We chose a dog from Molly and Axel as they’ve had previous litters and had produced the most stunning puppies.
Several months passed before we could choose our puppy but during that time Philippa would always keep us informed as to what was going on. She updated her website regularly, adding pictures and adding to the websites blog as things developed even emailing us pictures when Molly was in whelp and weekly when the pups were born.
When the time came to choose our puppy we were made to feel very welcome in Philippa’s home. We met all her dogs, including Molly, and it was obvious that all her dogs were happy and healthy. We chatted about many things and left feeling happy that we had chosen the right dog for us.
When the day came to pick up our puppy we were again made to feel very welcome. Philippa answered any last minute questions we had and reassured us that she would be just phone call or email away if we had any problems or concerns. We left with a whole load of stuff from a big bag of Pro-Plan puppy food, blanket with smell of mum and pups on, 5 generation pedigree and training and feeding guide to name just a few.
We are the owners of ‘Flyhart Cruz’ (Leo) and he is just loved by everyone who meets him. He just loves people and is great with others dogs in public both large and small. We take him to the British Association for German Shepherd dogs for training and obedience work and he is doing very well and receives many compliments from the trainers all commenting on how intelligent and how quickly he is picking things up.
My experience with Flyhart has been first class they are faultless!! Philippa just loves what she does and is a credit to the German Shepherd breed producing the most stunning dogs as a result of very careful breeding.
A cannot speak highly enough of this breeder and will certainly be using Flyhart again when we decided to add to our German Shepherd ‘family’ and would not hesitate to recommend them, not only to friends and family but to anyone looking to own a German Shepherd puppy.
